Navigating your employee’s health support

A proactive approach to support your employee’s health

Our Vocational Rehabilitation Coaching Check-In is a comprehensive work health programme designed to determine the health support needs of your employees through assessment. This proactive approach ensures your team is provided with only the necessary support reducing the cost of both support and absence.

Check-In Service Features:

Proactive approach

Referral for assessments can be made as part of an annual ‘check-in’. Alternatively, employees can self-referred or be referred by a manager where they feel support may be needed.

Concierge service

Check-in only provides the appropriate support and follow-ups when needed. No more overspending on a minimum agreed amount of support that may never be used.

Benefit navigation

Got health and wellbeing benefits available already? Check-in can advise you on the next best steps to take to ensure employees get the appropriate support.

Add-on support

Where benefits may not be available, W2W can provide add-on support by stepping up to our early intervention or rehabilitation services. Find out more about these services here.

How Vocational Rehabilitation Coaching Check-In Works for Employees

To determine which support is appropriate, individuals need to first be referred for a check-in assessment. There are three methods of referral:

Annual Referral

Where agreed, employees will take an annual check-in assessment to determine their needs

Self-referral

Where an employee feels they are struggling, they can self-refer to take a check-in assessment

Management referral

Where a manager is concerned about an employee’s health, they can refer an employee for assessment

Following assessment, our specialist clinical health coaches can determine which follow-up support is most appropriate for each individual. Each outcome and the support received following is shown below.

Working well: self-management

Where an individual is working well and needs little-to-no follow-up support, they would be sent or referred to any appropriate resources to self-manage and ‘checked-out’ from the programme. The outcome from this support means that employees will be prevented from getting into the ‘needs support’ category.

Needs support: self-management with follow-up

Where an individual is flagged as needing support but is currently still at work and coping, resources will be provided to the individual to enable them to self-manage at work. Following this, a follow-up session will take place with a W2W clinical health coach to ensure the resources have provided the necessary tools to self-manage effectively.

Off work or high risk: Active management

W2W’s clinical health coaches will provide recommendations for further support through appropriate existing benefits (where available). Where existing benefits are not available, W2W can provide required support as an add-on. Following support, a follow-up review will take place to measure its effectiveness.

The expected outcome of this level of service is to identify the risk of employee absence, enabling HR and line managers to identify the risks and support their employees in preventing absence.
